The great American cowboy hat is the Boss of the Plains hat. You can’t get any more American cowboy than the Boss of the Plains hat. It is the first cowboy hat. Cowboys in the 1800’s wore the Boss of the Plains hat and no other hat would do. You just weren’t a real cowboy if you didn’t wear one.
