Boss of the plains hat painted by Artist

The Boss of the Plains Hat  was depicted in many of C M Russell’s paintings. He worked in his younger years as a cowboy so he knows what the cowboys wore. That helped him to make his paintings of the cowboys authentic. His cowboys in all of his pictures wore an open crown with a flat brim. The brims looked like they were 3 1/2 inches. The crowns vary in height. They are all Boss of the plains hats and they weren’t creased or shaped. They had dents in the crowns from lots of use and grabbing of the crown or brim.
